The Indian Alliance for Public Health Preparedness (IAPHP), in collaboration with Swasti and Resolve to Save Lives, convened a session on “Implementing the 7-1-7 Target: From Detection to Response.” Amanda McClelland outlined how the framework—detect within 7 days, notify within 1 day, and respond within 7 days—has been adopted by more than 20 countries and engaged with by over 65 governments.
Case studies from South Sudan, Brazil, the United States, and Ethiopia demonstrated its adaptability across varied health system contexts.
The discussion emphasized the framework’s role in driving systems-level quality improvement, identifying vulnerabilities, and reducing outbreak impact through timely action.
